Chequamegon Bay Birding & Nature Festival
May 16 - 18, 2008

A weekend of birding and nature activities on Wisconsin's south shore of Lake Superior at the peak of spring migration. The Chequamegon Bay area is among the best birding destinations in the Midwest, with a wide variety of habitats hosting nearly 300 bird species. Abundant public lands and extraordinary natural beauty provide visitors with unparalleled nature watching opportunities in this exceptional area of northern Wisconsin.

Superior Vistas Bike Tour
June 21, 2008

Fourth annual Superior Vistas Bike Tour. Either ride or volunteer or both!

What: A one day, multi-loop, family oriented bike ride (NOT race). Select to ride a loop of 13, 19, 34, 52, or 68 miles. Pedal scenic, paved, low traffic roads. Enjoy cruising the gently rolling hills with views of Lake Superior and the surrounding forest and countryside.

Fully supported ride with route maps, support vehicles, and food/beverage stops en-route and at the finish. Some routes overlap so you can decide to shorten or lengthen your ride as you wish. Swim at Long Lake, enroute; camp at Thompson West End Park or Memorial Park in Washburn.

When: June 21, 2008; start times between 7:30 -9:30 am; same day registration: 7:30-9:00 am. Early bird registration, May 1.

Where: Start and finish at Thompson West End Park, Washburn, WI.
