Memorial Park Kitchen Project

Kitchen Building in original location.
Under the auspices of the City of Washburn and the Washburn Historic Preservation Commission, it has been determined to relocate and renovate the historic old Memorial Park kitchen shelter building.
The new site is adjacent to the new registration kiosk to the right of the entry loop. The new site was prepared by the city and a new concrete slab placed on the site by volunteers John Cook and Brian Guske in the fall of 2008.
The structure was prepared for and moved to its new location by a crew of volunteers in May of 2009.

Volunteers remove old shingles.

Moving the building to its new site, May 2, 2009
The official reopening was held on July 9, 2009.
A building renovation fund has been established by the city and the Historic Preservation Commission. Contributions to the "Memorial Park Kitchen Fund" to help defray the cots of this project will be happily accepted at the Washburn City Hall. |
